The Site
Welcome to zooshots!
Created to showcase some of my animal images from recent years, captured at zoological collections around the UK.
Not just a simple gallery, each image has a whole blog post devoted to it. Within each post, I hope to explain a little about the thought processes which led to the capture of the initial image.
Often I will show the initial captured image, and, from there, take the visitor onward through the editing process, including — wherever possible — a summary of the post-processing steps used to achieve the final version shown on screen.
Many of the shots are from current or very recent zoo trips, whereas others are selected from earlier visits during the past five years or so.
I hope you enjoy your visit to the site. Please get in touch using the contact form if you have any questions.
The Photographer
Hi
I’m Rob.
I’ve been interested in photography for well over thirty years, and in animals for as long as I can remember.
It’s only quite recently though that I’ve combined these two passions and started photographing agricultural subjects (mainly sheep, at UK agricultural events) and, even more recently, rekindling a love of visiting zoos and photographing their residents.
The Locations
